History
From a vineyard to the finca, in four scenes

Before — A vineyard
Before the building went up, this land was one whole vineyard, says Álex Henao. Hence the name: Dona Branca alludes to the wine once made here, and means to give visibility to the Monterrei D.O.

2012 — A grandfather’s dream
José Benito Lamas, Álex’s grandfather, worked all his life to build the Gran Monterrei, a restaurant on this very spot. It opened its doors in August 2012.

2023 — Ten months of work
Aged 23, Álex came back from Ourense to Monterrei and spent ten months rebuilding his grandfather’s restaurant; his mother, Pilar Lamas, is his partner. The finca opened on 13 October 2023 with more than 200 people.
